I graduated from CSUS, School of Fine and Performing Arts, where I studied piano and harpsichord with Professor Sylvia Ghiglieri (a student of Nadia Boulanger) and composition with Dr Deborah Kavasch. My compositions have won awards and been featured on contemporary music programs such as the Society of Composers Conference, UCLA Modern Vocal Music, and the International Institute of Women in Music. I have also premiered numerous works by many contemporary composers.

As a piano soloist, I have performed throughout the US, in Mexico, Central America, France and Canada. In 1989 I was featured at the MTAC State Convention performing a piece by Diane Thome for piano and tape. I have appeared with the Stanislaus Symphony Orchestra, CSUS Wind Ensemble, and the Oratorio Society and Orchestra. I began working as an accompanist for the CSUS music department while still an undergraduate student. I was later hired at Modesto Junior College to accompany private students, voice classes, and the MJC Vocal Jazz Ensemble. I have worked with Modesto Performing Arts, Townsend Opera Players, Modesto Symphony Orchestra, and Modesto Civic Theatre. I've also performed piano duo repertoire with many professional pianists.

I became an active member of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) in 1984, and have taught piano, theory and composition in Stanislaus County and the Bay Area. My students have won numerous awards and honors at the local, state, and national level, including Branch Honors and performances at the annual State Convention. I served on the Stanislaus County Board of MTAC for many years and was a judge for the MTAC Certificate of Merit program. As a member of the American College of Musicians, my students earned Top Talent ratings on international programs in National Guild Auditions. Two of my students won Special Bach medals.

A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I began piano studies at age six. I have performed in master classes with William Doppman, Phillip Lorenz, and Phillipe Bianconi and taken coaching from Joan Coulter, Claire James, and Terrence Wilson. Before piano, my first love was horses, and as an equestrian I competed in show jumping and dressage events with my Thoroughbred hunter, Aunt Mame. I also enjoy West Coast Swing dancing and compete at UCWDC dance events. As an award winning poet, I have been published in numerous poetry journals and have set a few original poems to music.
